Mar. 10th, 2008 @ 08:43 am Uhm.. Hello!
Hey there.

I'm pretty new to the whole cosplay thing - me and a few friends went to Collectormania in Manc yesterday, and decided there and then that we were going to cosplay at the November one. So.. yeah, pretty new!
I'd absolutely LOVE to go as Zelda, but.. I've no idea where to start. This is going to be my summer project, so I'm starting my planning now. All of the reference pictures I can find are of the front of her outfit, none of the back, so if anyone knows where I can find some pictures of the full outfit, it'd be appreciated.
And just generally.. if anyone has any pointers, advice, what not to do, where the heck to start.. that would be very helpful, thank you!

Peace out.

Okay so I have till the 4th of January to get two cosplays done. I'm cosplaying Link from TP and my Friend is doing Ilia. I haven't even started on her Ilia and I only have bits and pieces of my costume done.

here is the progress of said costume:

and 0% progress on ilia! AHHH!!

My question to you guys is about the sword. I'm wondering if I have enough time to make one and would it be bad if I bought this super craptastic wooden replica?

Current Mood: hyperbouncin' off the walls!
OMG! Hi, my name's Diana and I'm from Puerto Rico. Ummm.... >.<;; I really suck at these intros, but yeah. I'm a huge Zelda fan. My brother got me into Zelda! :D And well, I just recently got into cosplay cuz I found out there were actually conventions here last year and now I'm makin' a Zelda (TP) costume. The con is in two weeks, and all I really have to do is the armor. I just have this one problem, the picture I have of Zelda (that generic one, where's she's just standin' there with that "I'm so damn cool" face) and I can't really see the designs on the shoulder armor very well.

D: Could anyone help me, even though I've been so rude as to ask for help in my first post/introduction? (omigawsh, I'm so bad! >D no,notreally)

Thanks! :D

hey all :)

i know this is super last minute, but i'm trying to throw together a princess zelda from wind waker costume for halloween (by friday.. ack!)

all i can seem to find online are twilight princess costumes - anyone have any pics, references, suggestions, etc for a windwaker costume? i'm probably going to make the crown, belt and wing ear things from clay or paper mache, and buy fabric/fabric paint for the front panel. i'd like to make a slightly shorter skirt (above the knee) rather than a long skirt (so i don't get stepped on at the party, etc) - maybe a dress? any suggestions you guys have would be awesome :D

I was thinking the other night about how awesome it would be to try find a Shiek costume and be her[or should i say him?] for Halloween.

I found this community when I was google-ing costumes, and I've definitely come wayyyyy past the conclusion that I won't be able to find one...I have to make it...or rather, attempt to make it, with the limited talent I have.

Does anybody have any good tips or reference pics? I've only really been able to find the standard one of him just standing there: here
I've gotten some ideas on how to kind of short cut things so I don't have to make the ENTIRE thing from scratch. I can do basic things...but like I said, I'm not that talented at creating clothes/costumes.

Thanks! Everything I've seen here is of such good quality- you all have done REALLY good jobs. I love all the costumes. :)

Otakon is coming up WAY too quickly for my liking... I was spazzing out over this costume two days ago, but after today's work I feel a little bit better.
